Tom Burnette, co-author of Bigfoot: Exploring the Myth and Discovering the Truth, will speak at the Iredell County Public Library in Statesville. Burnette and co-author Rob Riggs spent 20 years searching for Bigfoot in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and in the swamplands of Southeast Texas. Burnette, whose land near Old Fort, North Carolina abuts the half-million acre Pisgah National Forest, will relate personal stories about his Bigfoot experiences. He will discuss the ethnographic research he and Riggs have done and will explain the theories they have arrived at as a result of their studies.
