Judge threatens to put Mooresville police and town council in jail!

I would think it was a pretty common practice for cops to take a drug dealer's money and let them go, over and over. After all, is the drug dealer going to go to the law and say the cops stold my illegal drug money?

They will probably have to return the money but this wouldn't be the first time a judge got bought

There always are, Foxy! But the judge ordered them to return his money, and they still held on to it for 3 months... the story doesn't matter, that's contempt of court.

I would be willing to bet there (their) are 2 sides to this story.

More likely he has been rehired and promoted. Low level cops can't be dirty without being enabled from above.

You say a Local Cop he must of been a Democrat I bet he working in Mooresville now

Acumen

My guess is, most cops are republicans. A liberal wouldn't even want to be a cop.

If the cops stold his money, can you reust their word? Maybe they saw the money and created the charges in order to take the cash.

Sadly, this isn't even unlikely. It wasn't that long ago that a local cop was fired because he was pulling over Mexicans, and if they didn't speak clear English then he would just take the money from their wallets and leave.

Maybe the cop is a Democrat and when he saw all that money he pocket it and cause he cant pay it back is he's done spent it and cause he's a Democrat he hopeing he don't have to pay it back

you're saying it's common for people to carry around $17.000 in their car?

Are you saying that it's illegal?

Plus, the resisting of a public officer has got many a people shot, yet that's okay?

Unfortunately, that's a very vague term:

"Sometimes, officers use "resisting arrest" as a catchall for any behavior that makes an investigation or arrest more difficult. It may be hard to believe that responding slowly, or reluctantly to an officer's general commands could lead to a resisting arrest charge. But it's true, sometimes an arrest doesn't need to be in progress to be charged with this crime."

He wasn't charged with assaulting an officer, so he didn't fight or anything... my guess is that he ran on foot. Illegal, sure, but again, they don't have the legal right to seize his money because of it.

If the police seize someone's money, then refuse to give it back when the judge orders them to, how are people supposed to pay for an attorney to defend them in court?
