ejroland, the ref's were one sided and the time keeper (teenager) did not know what he was doing. Clock only reset one time of the many he did it wrong. Look up the rules for stopping and starting the clock. The ref never looked at the clock when tons of people were telling him it needed to stop. Over a minute went by one time and he only gave back a few seconds. The same thing happens at Allegan all the time. Its funny Ashe never got the text about starting early. I don't have a problem with the kids, they played well. It's the crooked time keeping and refereeing that is wrong. The coaches at West were desperate to win and tried every trick to confuse the other teams all day long. They still LOST.

The scheduled times were on EVERYONE'S Schedule MONTHS in advance. The games last week were forced to start early? some were nearly an hour early start time, kids didn't even get to warm up? Funny West Wilkes was ready to go?

Oh I do know West coach personally. And lets just say, its obvious ejroland that you don't. Trust me you DONT. Don't go on here trying to make someone into a saint. You may get struck by lightening.

Okay I don't respond to the majority of the comments on these posts because 99.9% of the people commenting on here don't have a clue about the FACTS! First of all the referee had the West coach call the press box TWO (whole times) to reset the game clock. So it was fixed! The game clock operator had done a great job ALL day! He VOLUNTEERED his time to help. Most teenagers don't even get out of bed on Saturday morning but he helped the youth teams by running the clock. So what if he missed starting and stopping the clock twice. It was fixed. So to hear you call him crooked is absolute stupidity!!! I took over for him in the second half of that game and had to focus on starting and stopping the clock. It's much harder than you think. But most of you would rather point out others mistakes rather than help out anyways so just keep your mouths shut on this young man. As for the injury to Cody Mullis, the hits were not late. It was a bang bang situation that resulted in a hyper-extended knee. No flags were thrown by any one of the THREE officials so it was not determined late by any one of them! I hate for anyone to get hurt but it is part of any sport. I have worked with the coach from West and to hear people say he is crooked, shows me you just don't know him. He would never do anything to cheat or try to gain an advantage. As for the start times, the schedule was put together by the league president (FROM ASHE). The West district rep and Ashe rep exchanged a text message the night before the games to confirm the times. I read the messages Saturday morning. The games started according to the schedule the league president sent out to all the teams. So please get your facts before you shoot off at the mouth! It's youth football! Meant to be fun for the kids! Not for the "ADULTS" to complain about! But what am I thinking? Some of you wouldn't have a life if you didn't complain! The announcer was so right when he said it's hard to please some people!!!!!

The West coach is known for junk like this with his West cronies. He doesn't know how to win so he tries to steal one away. He needs coaching lessons as well as other lessons. Good job Ashe. Good job.

From what I heard (second hand so don't hold me to it!), East and Ashe tied for 1st, but since East beat Ashe, Ashe is in second, Alleghany in 3rd and Central Wilkes 4th. East will play Central Wilkes and Ashe will play Alleghany. I was at Ashe and West game as a bystander and it was a circus from the get go! Ashe had no time to warm up, clock running wild, late hits left and right, and the refs.... well lets just say- they knew what was going on and it probably was a good idea to get escorted off the field after it was all said and done. Hate that Ashe lost a good player- will be interesting on how it plays out for them at playoffs. Anxious to see the results. What is the prediction on your end?

The youth games that started early was just as bad. Honestly I am ashamed.....it is youth sports? The early games were dictated by the officials. Our 5/6 coach has no business coaching. All I can do is apologize for him and (whoever) hired the officials for the day.

It was at West Wilkes and as usual the clock was not stopped when it should have been and not started when it should have started. The ref just did nothing about resetting the clock either. One ref was just plain ignorant about rules. There was a lot of hard hitting after the whistle and no call by the ref. Two Ashe players hurt and one sent to hospital. They even started the game 30 minutes early so Ashe could not have much warm up time. I am glad they still lost to Ashe. Hard to beat a crooked clock. After half time the announcer even said they had to get a different time keeper. That's admitting they were crooked the first half. Still nothing from the refs. They even called for deputies to escort the worse ref to his car after the game. He must have known he was wrong if he was scared. One Ashe fan did run onto the field to get the ref but was held back by others. I don't agree with that and am glad they stopped him before getting to the ref. Just very bad ref and time keeper and too much hitting after the whistle by West Wilkes.

I hope the problem was at West Wilkes High School today...if not there is real problems in Wilkes. I am ashamed to say that I was there all day at WWHS.

Umm nobody cares but the handful of parents for each team..We cant get the high schools here to really focus on the jvs..you really think there is a big concern over 7th and 8th grade?
And just saying but sometimes you win when you cheat haha
