Announcing Chase Elliott will drive the #24 in 2016 full time, guessing Rick's pockets not as deep as I thought.

Chase Elliott in the #25? was sent an image supposedly taken during a photo shoot showing the #25 NAPA Chevy that Chase Elliott will supposedly drive in some NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races during the 2015 season. One rumor has Elliott making his Sprint Cup Series debut at Atlanta on March 1st. Atlanta is his 'home track' as he and his father, Bill, are both from Georgia. See the little bit fuzzy image of the car on the #25 Team Schemes page.(1-28-2015)

Makes sense, #25 has an HMS history,

I been thinking the same thing. I would assume that the # will be 24. But you are right Hendrick's pockets are deep indeed.

Now wondering what # Chase will drive. Will he continue the 24 or will Hendrick hold it as Teresa did with the 8 (no longer held but fans have altered their tattoos). Petty has the 9 (Chase's Dad's number) and says it won't release it, but HMS has deep pockets and Petty is a medium budget team.

Love him or hate him, one would have to admit that he can wheel a race car. One of the best ever in racing period. I will truly miss seeing him on the track. Like others have said my guess is the same, he will step aside for Chase Elliott . Gordon will be on his drive for 5 for the last time. Come on 24 car !!!

If he is then I will place a few bets on him for the championship. The odds will not pay much but it will almost be a lock. Remember how close Mark Martin came in his last full season driving a Hendrick car?

I was wondering how long it would be until Gordon retired so Chase could step in.

I know Gordon's back has been a problem and I will certainly miss seeing him but this paves the way for Chase Elliott......I didn't think Hendrick would let this kid get away. He is the next real deal.
